📝 Monthly Writing Tip 📝
Contests: S-t-r-e-t-c-h Your Writing Muscles!
Sometimes, if I find myself stuck in a rut, or need a break from staring at my manuscripts, I take the time to dive into a writing contest.
It’s a great way to challenge yourself, especially if the contest requires a considerably short word count!
Early on in my career, I entered each and every contest I could find. It helped me grow my list of author friends, learn new tips and tricks, as well as grow my confidence in putting my work out there!
Now that my author plate is a bit fuller at the moment, I have scaled back on how many contests I participate in, but do make sure I keep my eyes open for opportunities that suit my writing style, current work load, and my interests.
